Cast: Bud Fox (Charlie Sheen), Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas), Carl Fox (Martin Sheen), Carolyn (Tamara Tunie), Directed and Co-writed by Oliver Stone.
If you like the world of economy and you drop your socks every time you hear someone saying “oh yes, he have some stocks” then you will love this movie.
With this movie comes a great feature, “The Five Star Calification Protocol Used Only For Movies” (or TFSCPUOFM) only here at ClearYourMind! And Wall Street gets five out of five for being one of the best movies of all times.
The story is simple, and as usual, you won’t hear any spoilers here. A Young stockbroker, played by Charlie Sheen who is desperate to get to “the top”, so he start trying every thing he knows to play with the big players. He works for a small firm that usually handles small/medium transactions, so he need to show something really incredible to be noticed by people like Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas, on his best acting role!); a successful corporate fish. Gekko will show us what Wall Street is all about, he will take us, along with Bud (played by Sheen) into a place where millions are made in just a couple of seconds (no, it’s not eBay!)
The movie is full with economic excitement and excellent performances by both, Michael Douglas and Charlie Sheen. This movie is a real recommendation for those who wants to taste the wall street world, although, it’s obvious this movie isn’t a step by step guide on what happens there, but it’s a nice peek ;)
It seems things are going to change for a while for the TV producers, because LucasFilms creator George Lucas has announced LucasFilms is going out from the movie business, instead, they will be focusing on Television:
Variety talked to “Star Wars” creator George Lucas, who says that Lucasfilm is getting out of the movie business. “We don’t want to make movies. We’re about to get into television. As far as Lucasfilm is concerned, we’ve moved away from the feature film thing, because it’s too expensive and it’s too risky. I think the secret to the future is quantity. Because that’s where it’s going to end up.”
Well, I have to say it, I’m a little surprised to hear George Lucas doesn’t care much for quality, but for quantity… actually, from my point of view, the best Star Wars was the V (Empire Strikes Back); the characters really got developed there, but that’s just my personal opinion.
The reality is that our friend, George, is going to start on the TV series, so let’s just hope he doesn’t end up producing the Ewoks© or something. We need more “like 24″ shows…

Cast: Billy West (Philip J. Fry, Professor Hubert Farnsworth, Dr. John Zoidberg), Katey Sagal (Turanga Leela), John DiMaggio (Bender Bending Rodriguez a.k.a. Bender); Laurem Tom (Amy Wong), Phil LaMarr (Hermes Conrad); created by Matt Groening and David X. Cohen (both creators of The Simpsons).
Screen Capture of Futurama intro
Oh yes, this is one of those animated series you can’t stop watching, even when Fox only aired four seasons you have to watch Futurama over and over. Maybe the geek factor is the whole Futurama world, which is (I heard) pretty much the same world than the one at The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy or the old Space Quest games. You will find humor, creativity and action in this little serie from The Simpsons creator.
The series begins with Philip J. Fry, a New York City slacker and pizza delivery man, who is cryogenically frozen by accident on New Year’s Eve, 1999. He is defrosted one thousand years later on New Years Eve, 2999 and finds himself in New New York City.
Fry’s attempt to escape from his now-mandatory job assignment as a delivery boy ends when he is hired on at Planet Express, a small intergalactic package delivery company run by his distantly descended nephew, as a delivery boy.
The series covers the adventures of Fry and his colleagues as they travel around the universe making deliveries on behalf of Planet Express.
Excellent animated series if anyone ask me. Sadly, Fox didn’t want to keep going with the series, and the end of the last season was a little bit confusing (it didn’t answered all the questions fans wanted) but still; this is one cartoon with high “geek factor” and it’s really worth it. So, if you find a DVD over amazon, don’t think it twice.

Yes, I’m a geek. I love this show. I watched all episodes including those ones nobody liked. Of course, I don’t like anything further than Star Trek, the next generation; but still, I enjoyed watching how captains Kirk and Picard get themselves and their crew into troubles, and how they managed to pull them out of there.
Did you watched the series? do you know what I’m talking about?
