Screen Capture of Futurama intro
Oh yes, this is one of those animated series you can’t stop watching, even when Fox only aired four seasons you have to watch Futurama over and over. Maybe the geek factor is the whole Futurama world, which is (I heard) pretty much the same world than the one at The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy or the old Space Quest games. You will find humor, creativity and action in this little serie from The Simpsons creator.
The series begins with Philip J. Fry, a New York City slacker and pizza delivery man, who is cryogenically frozen by accident on New Year’s Eve, 1999. He is defrosted one thousand years later on New Years Eve, 2999 and finds himself in New New York City.
Fry’s attempt to escape from his now-mandatory job assignment as a delivery boy ends when he is hired on at Planet Express, a small intergalactic package delivery company run by his distantly descended nephew, as a delivery boy.
The series covers the adventures of Fry and his colleagues as they travel around the universe making deliveries on behalf of Planet Express.
Excellent animated series if anyone ask me. Sadly, Fox didn’t want to keep going with the series, and the end of the last season was a little bit confusing (it didn’t answered all the questions fans wanted) but still; this is one cartoon with high “geek factor” and it’s really worth it. So, if you find a DVD over amazon, don’t think it twice.
